Google Mail has got to be one of the best inventions ever. Ever, I tell you!
As you all know by now, Hanna is an anal-retentive, OCD perfectionist who absolutely has to have her life in an easy-to-understand, structured order. I have several calendars, TO-DO lists, planners, etc, and the need to organize has only increased with my job.
Today, I discovered GMail's handy "Groups" option - I created 4 groups under my RA email address for each suite in my building. I'll have to comb through the hard copy I have of all of my residents' email addresses, but that'll be well worth it when I start planning my individual suite meetings.
Google's "Labels" options means I have almost every single piece of correspondence in my email filed, and the ones that don't have a label are either trashed (but not deleted!), or starred. Several emails have more than one label, and are starred as well.
My massive inbox lets me store emails, even the trashed ones, for as long as I damn well want them, and since I don't like trashing things, I've got stuff saved from the beginning of 2005 still lying around.
I'm sure Google appreciates this free publicity I'm giving them. :D But seriously, I love it. I'm even using the new Blogger, which lets me sign in with my Google account, and have more than one blog if necessary (which it isn't).
The anal-retentive, OCD perfectionist has met her match!
